ERDA inks MoU with EESL

Electrical Research and Development Association (ERDA) strengthened its commitment towards energy efficiency by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for strategic partnership in the area of energy efficiency with Energy Efficiency Services Ltd (EESL) on 12th February.
ERDA is one of the pioneers in the field of propagating energy efficiency for the last two decades through its three business verticals of testing & evaluation, field services and R&D and expert services. ERDA has contributed significantly towards testing and evaluating of energy efficient distribution transformers, motors, LED lamps and other household appliances. ERDA also has an enriching experience in the field of energy management services in power and process plants under PAT scheme, performance efficiency testing of thermal power plants, measurement and verification under ESCO business model, walk through energy audits, etc. Through its R&D activities, ERDA has developed energy efficient induction motors of IE-4 class and helped the industry in improving efficiency of centrifugal pumps.
EESL is a joint venture of four National Public-Sector Enterprises – NTPC Limited, PFC, REC and Powergrid, and was set up under Ministry of Power. EESL is a Super Energy Service Company (ESCO). Founded in 2010 by the Government of India, EESL today is implementing the largest energy efficiency portfolio in the world. EESL’s energy efficient appliances and technologies have saved India over 35 billion kWh energy annually.
