Togo President inaugurates Jakson’s 50-MWp solar power plant

The plant would supply power to nearly 600,000 households as well as 700 SMEs in the region.
President Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé inaugurated a 50-MWp solar power plant at Blitta Village in Togo. The Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Solar Power Plant Project is being developed by AMEA Power, Dubai and designed, installed, commissioned, and executed by Jakson Group.
The plant would supply power to nearly 600,000 households as well as 700 small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the region. The plant is expected to supply 90,255 GWh of electricity to the grid annually. The foundation stone for the solar plant was laid by President Gnassingbé in February 2020.On the successful execution of the project, Sameer Gupta, Chairman & Managing Director, Jakson Group said, “We are proud to partner with AMEA Power, Dubai to execute the Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Solar Power Plant, at Togo, first of its kind utility scale solar power plant in West Africa. The Jakson Group will be taking care of the operations and maintenance of the solar power plant in Blitta Village for two years.
