IEEMA appoints Vipul Ray as the new president

Along with Vipul Ray, Rohit Pathak takes over as Senior Vice President and Hamza Arsiwala takes over as Vice President for the year 2021-2022.
The Indian Electrical & Electronics Manufacturers’ Association (IEEMA) recently announced that Vipul Ray, Managing Director, Elmex Controls Ltd has been appointed as the new President of IEEMA for the year 2021-2022. Ray took over at the Annual General Meeting of the Association held yesterday.
Vipul Ray is an active mentor in the start-up ecosystem. His able leadership has aided Elmex grow multifold and has a presence in more than 45 countries across the globe and in various sectors ranging from Renewables, Oil & Gas, Railways, Industrial Automation, Telecom, Power etc. Ray is a B.E. (Mechanical), M.S. (Manufacturing) from the University of California, Los Angeles, (UCLA) and M.B.A from the University of California, Irvine (UCI).
Along with this, office Bearers Rohit Pathak, CEO, Birla Copper (Hindalco Industries Limited) and Hamza Arsiwala, Chairman & Managing Director, Stelmec Limited also took over as Vice Presidents for the year 2021-22.
Rohit Pathak, is the CEO of Birla Copper, Hindalco Industries Limited. He has been with the Aditya Birla Group for over a decade. and joined the Group as the Principal EA to the Group Chairman, Kumar Mangalam Birla, where he advised Birla on key priorities (such as M&A, organic growth, special initiatives) and strategic planning & monitoring across the Group Businesses, and help the businesses on strategic issues and to leverage the Group Functions as needed.Hamza Arsiwala, is the MD & CEO of Stelmec Limited. , a company prominent in the Power sector in India for the last two decades. Hamza has demonstrated success in various facets of his life – from winning personal accolades to gaining market leadership for Stelmec’s M.V Switchgear and also building strong credibility in Power Transmission projects. Today, he is ploughing resources in automation within the Smart Grid space.
Talking about his vision and priority for IEEMA, Vipul Ray stated “India is going through an energy transition as a result of which the Indian Electrical and allied electronics industry will have lots of opportunities. To my mind, innovation, investment in digital transformation, Research & development and quality will be key drivers to staying ahead of the curve. Exports, accessing international markets, will help keep us set our sights higher. Aligning to national priorities of AatmaNirbhar Bharat, vocal for local and local for global would be important. IEEMA will therefore focus on all of these and at firm level, work with its members to build competitiveness to be able to access international markets. Of course, we will continue to build on our interactions with the Government to facilitate ‘Ease of Doing business; for our members.”
