Delta successfully fosters India’s New Era of e-Mobility

Delta has recently achieved a milestone in deploying 6,000 EV chargers in India.
Delta, a global leader in power and thermal management solutions, announced that it had delivered over 6,000 electric vehicle (EV) chargers to customers in India, marking a significant milestone in the country’s e-mobility transition. Delta’s close collaboration with major stakeholders in the EV charging infrastructure sector, such as TATA Power, Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Ltd. (BESCOM), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (BPCL), and Energy Efficiency Services Ltd. (EESL), as well as various OEMs, has enabled this breakthrough.
Delta’s unrivalled track record of integrating energy saving solutions across India and its EV charger portfolio’s superior capabilities and variety has been critical to its success in becoming the country’s preferred EV charging solution partner.

He further highlighted that Delta India’s R&D and engineering teams are creating more indigenous solutions, such as battery swapping systems for electric scooters and fast EV chargers. We intend to increase the localised content of our product and solution offerings to 80 per cent within a few years.

Delta has delivered over 1 million EV chargers worldwide since 2009 by leveraging its core competence in high efficiency power electronics. It has become a significant provider of automotive powertrain and power management electronics to most of the world’s largest EV makers. Delta India also has a solid roadmap for future product pipelines, including cutting-edge technology and even faster charging times. Furthermore, a single site houses 11 fast chargers for one of India’s largest bus OEMs and a portfolio of EV chargers for a Kerala state utility company deployed throughout the state. Delta provides a one-stop shop for EV charging infrastructure, including site surveys, design specifications, installation, and after-sales service. Delta is also one of the first companies in India to provide a Bangalore utility company with fully-integrated EV charging solutions that include solar PV inverters, energy storage systems, and energy management software. Delta is strengthening its R&D and manufacturing capabilities in India in line with the “Make in India” national development initiative, with more than half of its product offerings in the country now manufactured locally.

According to the government report, two-wheeler EVs increased by 422 per cent between 2019 and 2021, three-wheelers by 75 per cent, and four-wheelers by 230 per cent.
