GOI and BEE aims to increase non-fossil fuel based power generation

According to 2022-22, India’s per capita electricity consumption was 1255 kWh, which is estimated to be one-third of the global average. In order to increase energy efficiency, the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) and Government of India have implemented some schemes, such as; Standards and Label (S&L) Programme, Unnat Jyoti by Affordable LEDs for All (UJALA), Street Lighting National Programme (SLNP), Building Energy Efficiency, Agriculture, and Municipal Demand Side Management.
