The International Carbon Exchange platform will be critical in meeting global sustainability objectives. The exchange will provide a transparent and dependable marketplace for trading carbon credits.
Indian Energy Exchange, India’s leading and premier energy market platform, today established a wholly owned subsidiary company called “International Carbon Exchange Private Limited” (“ICX”) to explore business opportunities in the voluntary carbon market.
Through its transparent and reliable platform, ICX will enable participants to buy and sell voluntary carbon credits at competitive prices, facilitating a 45 percent reduction in global GHG emissions by 2030 and putting the world on track to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees. The recently concluded COP27 conference emphasised the importance of reducing GHG emissions. In a national context, India has set a goal of reaching net-zero emissions by 2070.
