CSIR-IICT, Hyderabad, Luminous jointly to develop sustainable battery

Together, Luminous Power Technologies and CSIR-IICT, Hyderabad, are developing a sustainable battery. The best sustainable energy storage option is a rechargeable aluminium battery.
Luminous Power Technologies Pvt. Ltd. supports the “Make in India” and “Innovate India” programs. Gurugram and the CSIR-Indian Institute of Chemical Technology, (CSIR-IICT), Hyderabad have partnered to create a rechargeable aluminium battery (RAB). In the presence of Amlan Kanti Das, Senior Vice President, Abhishek Choudhury, IP & Technology Consultant, Dr. D. Shailaja, Chief Scientist & Chair, Business Development & Research Management, Dr. J. Vatsala Rani, Principal Scientist, and Dr. Pratyay Basak, Sr. Principal Scientist from CSIR-IICT, and Preeti Bajaj, MD. Energy storage systems for solar and inverter applications are a specialty of Luminous Power Technologies. Over the years, the company has developed a robust product range for power backup solutions, including the most recent introduction of innovative lead-acid gel batteries.
With a long record of success as a knowledge partner to the chemical industry, CSIR-IICT is working to develop materials for next-generation battery chemistries.
The MD of Luminous Power Technologies, Preeti Bajaj, said, “This is indeed a proud day for Luminous Power Technologies.
