Dr. Girish Vaze, CMD of Elcom International, discusses their goals to establish a world-class product mix to suit the constantly expanding demand from the industrial, renewable energy, and power sectors during ELECRAMA 2023.
Elcom International is a global leader that provides electromechanical and electronic components. Their key focus at Elecrama 2023 will be on Elcom’s new products, which include industrial plugs, sockets, connections, EV connectors, power strips, and IDC wiretap connectors.
What are the key demand drivers for power distribution and electromechanical components?
The investments in the data centre market and the need for energy monitoring through internet-based systems are the market drivers for power distribution units and power entry components.
What electrical products and services do you provide, and what distinguishes them?
We at Elcom manufacture various electromechanical components like IEC and NEMA connectors, DIN connectors, EMI RFI filters, switches, fuse holders, solar connectors, Indian sockets, industrial plugs, sockets and connectors, EV connectors, smart PDUs, and solutions for data centres.
All these products are indigenously designed, developed, and manufactured by Elcom. Elcom’s value creation mechanism revolves around making quality technology products and services by continuously investing in state-of-the-art infrastructure, talent, ideas, and innovation.
What are your company’s current challenges regarding procuring raw materials and rising costs?Turmoil in the supply chain of semiconductor-based components on the market, as well as some other critical raw materials, causes delayed lead times, and rising costs affect the overall sale price of the products.
What do you anticipate from the Union Budget for 2023?
The budget for 2023 should focus on energy and renewable energy, healthcare, digitalisation, technology, and manufacturing (Make in India), along with an emphasis on quality infrastructure within the country and export promotion incentives.
Please include information about your in-house production facilities for these items and components.
Elcom has built its state-of-the-art infrastructure in-house. DSIR recognises our research and development team and its activities. We also develop and manufacture the Tool Room for modules and dies. Some of the other divisions of our manufacturing facility include the Injection Moulding division, Metal Stamping Division, and Electroplating, among others.
We have different assembly lines for various products and solutions manufactured in this facility. Furthermore, our testing facility is highly reliable as the Underwriter’s laboratory assesses our Reliability Test Lab. We have stringent quality control systems in place in our manufacturing facility that ensures the developing and producing high-quality products for the electrical sector.
