Havells India Ltd. has advanced strategically in the Indian electrical sector through its commercial agreement with Sweden tech start-up Blixt Tech AB.
Havells is strengthening its position as the leading switchgear company in the area by introducing ground-breaking solid-state circuit breakers (SSCB) in the Indian subcontinent. The move emphasises Havells’ commitment to cutting-edge, future-ready solutions that adhere to sustainability requirements in a sector that is undergoing fast transformation.
In the coming decades, India’s demand for high-power applications is anticipated to increase more significantly than that of any other country, and the country’s power system is anticipated to advance in technology, become smarter, and improve IT-enabled data exchange and management technologies. SSCBs have a significantly faster capacity to interrupt current flow than conventional mechanical circuit breakers, and there is practically no arc because of digital switching, which prevents wear and tear. SSCBs have the potential to be a key technology for the industry.
Vivek Yadav, Executive Vice President, Havells India Ltd, said, “We are extremely delighted to partner with Blixt in this endeavour and reinforce our thought leadership in switchgear. Our aim is to bring cutting-edge technology and set new benchmarks for the industry. With this partnership, we are poised to make a significant impact on the future of the Indian and global electrical industry. Solid-state circuit breakers (SSCBs) have versatile applications in the electrical industry, including power distribution, renewable energy, data centres, electric vehicles, and aerospace and defence.Trued Holmquist, Co-Founder and CEO of BLIXT, said, “Teaming up with the market leader in India will allow us to scale faster and reach a huge market in rapid transition. We believe the fit and timing is perfect, and together with Havells, we will be able to reach millions of customers who would benefit from this new technology. We look forward to interact with customers across Indian region to address different applications, enabling faster and reliable circuit protection “. SSCB has various applications related to power distribution, renewable energy, data centres, electric vehicles, aerospace, and defence. SSCBs are a flexible technology that may be applied to a variety of applications where quick and reliable circuit protection is crucial. It is conceivable that we will see even more cutting-edge uses for SSCBs in the future as technology develops.
