Cliantech Solutions, an Indian firm, has successfully secured a significant project in the UAE for the development of a 600 MW solar module facility. The project is scheduled to commence operations in August of this year. The state-of-the-art automated production line will incorporate cutting-edge technologies including Mono PERC, Bifacial, and TopCon.
Magnus Green Solar, a Dubai-based engineering firm specialising in renewable energy, has awarded Cliantech Solutions and Technologies LLP a turnkey contract for this endeavour. As part of the agreement, Cliantech will establish the advanced solar module manufacturing facility, initially with a capacity of 600 MW per year. The capacity will subsequently be expanded to 1.2 GW annually in two phases.
Dubai has emerged as a favoured destination for solar projects due to the proactive support and incentives provided by the UAE government. Notably, the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) introduced the Shams Dubai initiative, which encourages homeowners and businesses to install solar panels and connect them to the grid. Furthermore, Dubai’s Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, the world’s largest single-site solar park, recently received bids from ACWA Power and Masdar for phase VI of its 1,800 MW tender. DEWA announced that Masdar submitted the lowest bid of USD 1.62154 cents per kilowatt-hour. Masdar is the renewable energy firm owned by the UAE government.
