The Tata Power EZ CHARGE card is a new frontier integrating RFID technology with our Charge Point network to offer a quick, simple and easy charging solution.
The EZ CHARGE card, a cutting-edge RFID (Radio-frequency identification) card that promises to change the EV charging experience for lakhs of electric vehicle (EV) owners across the country, was presented today by Tata Power, one of India’s largest and fastest growing EV charging solutions providers.
At the Bombay House, Shailesh Chandra, MD of Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility, and Dr Praveer Sinha, CEO & MD of Tata Power, introduced the EZ CHARGE card. With Tap, Charge, and Go capabilities, the card delivers convenience that is unmatched. An integrated chip in the RFID card makes it possible to start charging sessions and pay for them in a quick, secure, and seamless manner.
Users can press their EZ CHARGE RFID card on the Tata Power EZ charger to immediately start the charging process based on their pre-set recharge value. Owners of electric vehicles (EVs) can travel with ease and confidence after the car is charged.
The massive EV charging infrastructure provided by Tata Power, which consists of over 40,000 household chargers, 4000+ public and semi-public charging points, and 250 bus-charging sites, is present in 550 cities and spans 350 of them. In order to further promote the development of the nation’s EV ecosystem, the firm intends to install 25,000 charging sites over the course of the next five years.Dr. Praveer Sinha, CEO & MD, Tata Power said, “As the largest and fastest growing EV Charging player in India, we are delighted to bring another innovative offering to further enhance customer experience. The Tata Power EZ CHARGE card is a new frontier integrating RFID technology with our Charge Point network to offer a quick, simple and easy charging solution to EV owners. We continue to collaborate with Tata Motors to accelerate EV adoption and enable a sustainable mobility for all Indians.”
The EZ CHARGE Card’s further benefits, particularly in locations with patchy cell network connectivity, allow EV customers to charge their vehicles and make payments without any problems. Users can connect their EZ Charge accounts and RFID cards to enable access sharing without revealing confidential or sensitive app information, hence ensuring privacy and security. Due to the card’s optimised charge and payment processes, transactions are quicker and more efficient.
