NTPC achieves record-breaking power generation with the fastest-ever 300 billion units in FY24

Milestone achieved in 262 days, showcases dedication to reliability, affordability, and sustainable electricity for India’s future.

The NTPC Group achieved a remarkable milestone on December 18, 2023, in the fiscal year 2023-24 by generating 300 Billion Units (BU) of electricity, marking the fastest accomplishment in its history. This significant feat was attained in just 262 days, surpassing the previous fiscal year’s performance by 18 days. In FY 2022-23, the company reached the 300 BU generation mark on January 5, 2023. On a standalone basis, NTPC stations recorded a generation of 256 BU in FY 2023-24.

This achievement underscores NTPC’s unwavering commitment to providing the nation with reliable and affordable power. Despite having an installed capacity of approximately 74 GW, with over 18 GW, including 5 GW from renewable sources, currently under construction, NTPC aims to achieve a Renewable Energy capacity of 60 GW by 2032.

In addition to its core focus on power generation, NTPC has diversified its business interests into various new areas. The company has ventured into e-mobility, Waste-to-Energy initiatives, and Green Hydrogen solutions, and actively participated in the bidding for power distribution in Union Territories.
