Gautam Solar, a prominent player in the Indian solar manufacturing sector, has made significant advancements in reshaping the country’s energy landscape. The company has achieved this by delivering 60 MW of high-efficiency solar panels, which are manufactured domestically, for the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM) Yojana.

Gautam Solar’s 10BB Mono PERC Solar Panels feature several distinctive attributes. These include larger M10 cells, which enhance power generation, multi-busbar technology that minimises electrical losses, round ribbon connectors for improved light utilisation, bifacial technology enabling power generation from both sides, non-destructive cell cutting for enhanced reliability and reduced chances of micro-cracks, and half-cut cell technology for superior performance in low-light conditions.

Gautam Mohanka, Managing Director of Gautam Solar Private Limited said, “Gautam Solar has played a key role in helping the country’s energy transition goals by supplying high-quality BIS and ALMM-approved solar modules to solar power plants & government supported programs. We believe that to achieve sustainable development, it is important to develop a domestic supply chain for renewable energy to meet the rising energy demand in the country.”

The government has set major sustainability targets, including increasing renewable energy capacity to 500 GW by 2030 (such that renewables constitute 50 percent of the energy mix) and reaching Net Zero emissions by 2070. To go about this, it has launched a number of schemes, of which PM-KUSUM Yojana is a prominent one. It has been a major boon for farmers and has played a key role in making agriculture more sustainable by utilising both barren and cultivated agricultural lands to be used for putting up solar power plants. It has also helped farmers in areas where either grid electricity was non-existent or unreliable.

To help the country transition to clean energy, Gautam Solar is in process of increasing its capacity to 5 GW with the addition of a new fully automated robotic manufacturing facility in Bhiwani, Haryana.
