The subsidiary of Godrej & Boyce completes 400kV GIS vertical substation in Mumbai augmenting the city’s energy capacity by 1500MVA.

Godrej & Boyce, the flagship company of the Godrej Group, has made a significant announcement regarding its subsidiary, Godrej Electricals & Electronics, as it places a strategic focus on bolstering India’s burgeoning modern power infrastructure. The company’s commitment to this endeavour is underscored by its successful completion of a range of projects spanning from 132kV to 765kV, with a current order backlog exceeding 1700cr in the substation segment.

The business commissioned eight substations in FY24, Godrej Electricals & Electronics achieved a milestone by commissioning eight substations, including the prestigious 400kV GIS vertical substation situated in Mumbai. This landmark project substantially augmented the city’s energy capacity by an impressive 1500MVA, effectively meeting the escalating demands for power. By extending its expertise to diverse geographical terrains, including the challenging landscapes of the Northeast states, Jammu, and regional hubs like Khavda in Gujarat, the company has demonstrated its commitment to providing reliable, affordable, and sustainable energy infrastructure in metro cities.
