The utilities sector in India is witnessing digital evolution, embracing smart grids, renewable energy, data analytics, UPS systems, and robust cybersecurity measures. Government initiatives like the National Smart Grid Mission (NSGM), the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS) and the Integrated Power Development Scheme (IPDS) are driving this shift. The collaborative efforts between government and private entities are catalysing to achieve a more intelligent and sustainable energy goal.
Despite these advancements, challenges like data breaches, meter tampering, and AT&C losses persist, indicating that there are still hurdles to overcome.
On this note, EPR is hosting a Live Power Talk on ‘Smart utilities for smarter India’ on February 21, 04:00 PM onwards. Industry experts will delve into the current landscape, exploring innovation opportunities and addressing the challenges, showing the way towards securing an energy future.
