The workforce at CBG has expanded to 1,600 employees in FY 2024–2025, aiming for a new project order value of INR 5,000 crores.
Gruner Renewable Energy, India’s fastest-growing renewable energy company, has recently bagged multiple projects worth ₹1,500 crore for Compressed Biogas (CBG) Plants across the country within the first year of its incorporation. This strategic initiative underscores the company’s dedication to driving growth and innovation in the renewable energy landscape while contributing significantly to India’s sustainable development goals.
In a notable development, Gruner secured 11 projects from India’s leading business conglomerate valued at Rs 1,100 crore and 19 other projects worth ₹400 crore from individual business leaders. Gruner will develop the compressed biogas (CBG) plants, valued at ₹1,500 crores across India, collectively contributing to an annual production of over 88,000 tons of compressed biogas for the Indian market. These projects are strategically located across various cities, including Ayodhya (Uttar Pradesh), Satna (Madhya Pradesh), Balasore (Orissa), Navsari (Gujarat), Yavatmal (Maharashtra), Vijayawada, Rajahmundry (Andhra Pradesh), and others.
To ensure the smooth operation of these projects, Gruner will add around 900 professionals and skilled labour, taking its workforce to 2,500 employees, including site workers, by next quarter. These will be deployed at various locations, including the corporate office in Noida, NCR.
Utkarsh Gupta, Founder & CEO of Gruner Renewable Energy, emphasized the company’s commitment to combating climate change and driving economic growth through sustainable solutions, stating, “Currently, India satisfies about 85% of its crude oil demands through imports. However, a gradual effort is underway to expand biofuel production capacity within the country. By leveraging our current orders, we aim to reduce India’s overall expenditure on crude oil imports by INR 8 billion. Furthermore, our efforts aim to benefit farmers and generate employment in the energy industry, fostering awareness and development. We aspire to be pivotal in India’s commitment to becoming a net-zero economy by 2070 through renewable energy.”The company, which started operations last February 2023, currently oversees a robust portfolio comprising 30 ongoing projects nationwide. With a forward-looking approach, the company aims to augment its project count to 100 and achieve a new order value of INR 5,000 crores by the end of the current financial year. This will take Gruner to the epitome, where it will prove itself as one of India’s fastest-growing companies in the renewable energy industry.
Gruner Renewable Energy’s initiatives align with the broader national agenda of promoting clean energy and decreasing reliance on fossil fuels. Through strategic investments and partnerships, the company remains committed to advancing India’s renewable energy infrastructure and steering towards a greener future for future generations.
