The national workshop in New Delhi lays the groundwork for standardised production and application of green hydrogen.
The Central government recently organised a daylong workshop on ‘Quality Control in Green Hydrogen: Standards & Testing Infrastructure’ at Sushma Swaraj Bhawan, New Delhi. The workshop, convened by the Union Ministry of New & Renewable Energy, outlined actions necessary to establish a consistent ecosystem for green hydrogen production through well-defined quality standards. It also addressed the measures needed to develop a network of green hydrogen testing facilities and to enhance the ease of doing business to expedite the transition towards clean energy.
As a significant outcome of the workshop, a dedicated portal for the National Green Hydrogen Mission was launched. This portal will serve as a central location for information on the Mission and the steps taken for the development of the green hydrogen ecosystem in India.
The workshop featured five-panel discussions where experts from leading technical institutions, regulators, and industries deliberated on various aspects of the green hydrogen ecosystem:Approximately 300 stakeholders from ministries, public sector undertakings (PSUs), government agencies, industry associations, research institutes, laboratories, and academia participated in the workshop.
