RECPDCL transfers Tumkur-II transmission project to GR Infra

The project covers the establishment of 400/220 kV, 4 X 500 MVA pooling station near Tumkur, Karnataka and 27.2 Km of 400 kV line along with associated works.
REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL), a wholly owned subsidiary of REC Limited, the Maharatna CPSU under the aegis of the Ministry of Power, has handed over a project-specific SPV (Special Purpose Vehicle). viz, Tumkur-II REZ Power Transmission Limited to GR Infraprojects Limited (GRIL) at Gurugram.
GR Infraprojects Limited (GRIL) emerged as the Transmission Service Provider (TSP) through a Tariff-based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) process conducted by RECPDCL – the Bid Process Coordinator, for the development of the above transmission project on Build, Own, Operate & Transfer (BOOT) basis. The project covers the establishment of 400/220 kV, 4 X 500 MVA pooling station near Tumkur, Karnataka and 27.2 Km of 400 kV line along with associated works.The SPV was handed over by TSC Bosh, CEO, RECPDCL to Saurabh Kaushik, Head (Business Development & Strategy), GR Infra Projects Limited in the presence of Senior Officials of RECPDCL, GRIL and Central Transmission Utility of India Limited. The project is targeted for implementation in 24 months.
