NTPC invites bid for 800 MW pumped hydro storage project in Maharashtra

The project aims to generate power efficiently while ensuring economical water usage and competitive tariffs. Bidders are required to provide a bid security of ₹25 million and must have experience in completing a DPR for a hydroelectric or pumped hydro project of at least 100 MW within the last 15 years. Additionally, their average annual turnover over the past three financial years should be a minimum of ₹2,189.7 million.
Bidders need to have a net worth of at least 100 per cent of their paid-up share capital as of the last day of the previous financial year. If they do not meet this requirement, they may rely on the net worth of their subsidiaries or holding companies.
NTPC may also seek funding from international agencies such as the World Bank and JICA. The DPR must include all necessary studies and analyses required by these agencies.Last year, NTPC Green Energy invited bids for developing pumped hydro storage projects with a total capacity of up to 2,000 MW across India. Additionally, the Central Electricity Authority has approved two new pumped hydro projects in Maharashtra, totalling 2,500 MW.
