What are the latest technological developments by Allied Engineering Works Pvt. Ltd.?
At Allied Engineering Works Pvt. Ltd., innovation drives its product development. Among our latest advancements are dual communication NICs, which enhance connectivity and reliability for smart meters, and dual SIM + DI/DO capabilities specifically designed for distribution transformer (DT) and feeder meters. We have also introduced the class 0.2 HT meter, offering unmatched accuracy for high-tension applications, and are expanding into gas and water metering solutions. These innovations underline our commitment to providing cutting-edge technology to meet the evolving needs of the utility sector.
How do your smart meters with IoT capabilities enhance energy efficiency and renewable energy integration within modern energy systems?
Renewable energy sources have transformed traditional energy systems, giving rise to “prosumers”—individuals and entities generating their own power through solar plants and other renewable sources. Smart meters now play a pivotal role in enabling net metering, allowing surplus energy to be sent back to the grid while efficiently managing energy consumption. Our solutions also include energy management systems (EMS) tailored for renewable energy integration. Additionally, our smart meters are equipped with IoT capabilities, ensuring seamless communication and efficient distribution system management, which is essential in a renewable energy-driven ecosystem.
How do Allied Engineering Works smart meters enhance energy management through IoT integration and real-time monitoring?
The transition to decentralised power grids is reshaping the utility landscape. The increasing adoption of IoT and automation in energy management demands that smart meters evolve into more versatile and integrated devices. Our smart meters are designed to seamlessly connect with IoT-driven systems, enabling utilities to monitor and manage energy flow in real-time. This integration ensures improved efficiency, reduced energy losses, and enhanced utility decision-making capabilities, paving the way for a future where smart grids and smart meters work in unison. What are your expectations from this year’s budget?
We anticipate several key measures that will boost the industry. Firstly, we hope for initiatives to encourage ‘Make in India’ under the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme for meter manufacturing. This would strengthen domestic production capabilities and reduce dependence on imports. Secondly, we advocate for capacity building in electronic component manufacturing, critical for sustaining technological advancements. Lastly, a higher budget allocation for electrical, gas, and water utility infrastructure would support expanding essential services, enabling broader adoption of smart metering solutions.
What are your plans for ELECRAMA 2025?
ELECRAMA 2025 will be a significant platform for us to showcase our comprehensive range of solutions. These include consumer smart meters for single-phase and three-phase systems, DT meters, industrial and commercial meters, HT feeder and boundary meters, and residential township solutions. Additionally, we will display power quality meters, multifunction meters, power analysers, DC meters, and our newly developed gas and water meters. Beyond meters, our expertise in wires and cables and associated services will also be highlighted, reaffirming our position as a one-stop solution provider for diverse utility needs.
