Tata Power launch campaign to create awareness about solar energy usage
.

The campaign ‘Club Enerji Eco Crew’ aims to sensitise 5 lakh students across 24 cities on solar energy adoption across 1000 schools in Uttar Pradesh.

Tata Power launched ‘Club Enerji Eco Crew’—India’s largest energy literacy movement to create awareness about solar energy usage and promote eco-conscious practices among school students.

Eco Crew seeks to reach over 5 lakh students across 1,000 schools in 24 towns, including key locations like Lucknow, Varanasi, Ayodhya, Meerut, Agra and Kanpur. The programme is designed to instil a sense of environmental responsibility in students by educating them about the benefits of solar power viz adoption of rooftop solar and sustainable practices.

Through engaging on-ground activations, students will participate in interactive workshops, energy audits, creative competitions, and hands-on projects focused on sustainability. Tata Power’s sustainability buddy “Globey” – a real-life representation of a happy and healthy Globe that is powered by green energy solutions, is also at these workshops simplifying sustainability concepts for young students. These activities will not only raise awareness but also equip young minds with practical knowledge to protect the environment.

By creating awareness and encouraging adoption of environment conscious solutions like solar energy, the initiative is supporting the PM Surya Ghar Yojana which envisions solarising 1 crore households across the nation, and the UP Government’s support to this through top-up subsidies up to Rs1,08,000. Tata Power has also committed to empower 10 lakh homes with rooftop solar solutions by 2027 in alignment with the scheme.

Eco Crew represents Tata Power’s commitment to nurturing a generation of eco-conscious citizens capable of driving change in their communities. The initiative encourages students to extend their learnings beyond the classroom, influencing their families and neighbourhoods. It is a part of company’s umbrella initiative Club Enerji which is one of India’s largest energy awareness program

Through Club Enerji’s digital platform, students will engage in a 21-day challenge to build sustainable habits, leading to long-term behavioural change. Outstanding participants will be recognized as ‘Eco Stars’ and rewarded for their efforts. The program will culminate in celebratory events where Tata Power will felicitate students and schools demonstrating exceptional dedication to sustainability.

Uttar Pradesh, with its vast population and dynamic youth, plays a critical role in India’s green energy transition. Tata Power, a trusted partner in the state’s progress, has been accelerating rooftop solar adoption through its ‘Ghar Ghar Solar’ initiative. The company has also joined hands with UPNEDA to accelerate solar rooftop adoption across in Uttar Pradesh.

With the launch of Club Enerji Eco Crew, Tata Power is reinforcing its commitment to sustainability by educating and empowering young minds, ensuring a greener and more energy-efficient future for India.
