LED Expo Mumbai kicks off, illuminating with groundbreaking lighting solutions

Organised by Messe Frankfurt Trade Fairs India, the 29th edition factored in a unique amalgamation of LED lighting products, components and solutions from more than 233 exhibitors.
India’s most anticipated show on LED and lighting technology, LED Expo Mumbai, opened today at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai. It brightened up the venue with ground-breaking displays of lighting solutions. Organised by Messe Frankfurt Trade Fairs India, the 29th edition factored in a unique amalgamation of LED lighting products, components and solutions, including smart lights, LEDs for design and décor, LEDs for atmospheric lighting and wellness and problem-solving innovations such as biomimicry in lighting applications from more than 233 exhibitors.
Illuminating the industry with lighting innovations for the future, the expo was inaugurated in the presence of esteemed dignitaries. The event was graced by Chief Guest Dominic Romell, President of the Maharashtra Chamber of Housing Industry & Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Associations of India (MCHI-CREDAI) and Managing Director of Romell Group. Other distinguished attendees included Surbhi Jindal, Founder & CEO of DaLight Hub and Ambassador of Women in Lighting India, Urmila Rajadhyaksha, President of the Indian Society of Landscape Architects (ISOLA), and Ketan Thakkar, President of the Electric Merchants Association. Also present were Kunal Shah, Member-Chair of the Lighting Designers Association of India (LiDAI), Mukesh Gandhi, President of the Luminaires Accessories Components Manufacturers Association (LACMA), and Winston Pereira, Executive Director of Messe Frankfurt Trade Fairs India Pvt Ltd. Their presence underscored the importance of the expo in shaping the future of India’s LED and lighting industry.
During the inauguration ceremony, Dominic Romell, President, Maharashtra Chamber of Housing Industry & Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Association of India (MCHI-CREDAI), expressed, “I am very happy to be here at the LED Expo Mumbai. I request all the developers to come and see what the products are. These products can help add premium ratings to real estate projects and add value to your flat sales. There are wonderful products here, nearly 6,000 products and I have seen about 1,000 products and these are worth watching. Every exhibitor has a different aspect of it right from nature to biomimicry. So, you have everything under one roof.”
Day one of the event presents a power packed panel discussion – ‘CXO Power Panel – Balancing Design, Innovation and Manufacturing Excellence in the Lighting Industry’ hosted by Women in Lighting, India. The discussion explored the evolving dynamics between cutting-edge lighting design and the practicalities of large-scale manufacturing. CXOs from leading lighting design firms and manufacturing from India will debate how to strike the right balance between aesthetics, functionality, cost, and sustainability.On Day Two of LED Expo Mumbai, visitors will have the opportunity to participate in three insightful technical workshops covering key advancements in the lighting industry. Silence Acoustics will present a session on ‘Acoustic Lights,’ exploring the integration of sound-absorbing materials with lighting solutions. Studio Black Canvas will lead a workshop on ‘Biomimicry Designs & Their Impact on the Environment,’ showcasing nature-inspired lighting innovations that enhance sustainability. Brightworks Lighting Solution will conduct a session on ‘Understanding Lighting Control – Systems, Protocols & Automation,’ offering insights into modern lighting control mechanisms.
The day will conclude with an engaging panel discussion on ‘Landscape Lighting for Safety, Security, & Sustainability,’ where industry experts will share perspectives on the role of lighting in urban design and public safety.
The event has garnered support from prestigious industry bodies and associations including Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST), Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) – a unit of the Ministry of Power, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), The Electric Merchants Association (EMA) and Women in Lighting India (WIL).
