Work on slow pace
The government has announced several initiatives to revive the power sector since the time has come into power. Briefing whether the initiatives have started delivering or no Parag Yelegaonkar, Business Development Manager, Testo India Pvt Ltd says, “There are many initiatives taken by the government in reviving the power sector like 24×7 power for all covering adequacy of generation, transmission capacity and distribution system. Initiatives like (Unnat Jyoti by Affordable LEDs for All) to rural electrification under Deendayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY) to UDAY (Ujwal DISCOM Assurance Yojana) are under implementation stage. These initiatives started delivering but at a very slow pace. Working and fixing on issues of transmission and distribution losses and efficiency improvement would be vital in the years to come.”
The game changers
Informing on the game changer Yelegaonkar says, “Framing out the flexible policies for various generation projects in conventional and non-conventional energies, speedy implementation of policies in new and renewable energies, efficiencies in generation, transmission and distribution by innovative technologies will be a game changer.”
Aggressively marketing the products
Talking about Testo India’s performance during the past one year, Yelegaonkar points out, “Our company performed well but certain unfavourable changes in policies, GST implementation and global slowdown did impact the functioning of the entire industry.”
Testo India is aggressively marketing its products on the basis of technical merits and from the operational safety point of view. One of the key areas the company is working on is the smart technologies in test and measurements. “Our main aim to help customer to carry out the assets predictive maintenance using Testo Thermal Imagers, to achieve the overall improvement in operational efficiencies and maintain safety. This will give the indirect benefits in cost and achieving the availability of the equipment and help nation to achieve “24×7 Power to All,” he adds.
