Genus Power announces launch of smart meter installation project throughout Uttarakhand

The first phase of the project will see the installation of smart meters in Dehradun, Rishikesh, Roorkee, and Haridwar. These smart meters will enable residents to make online payments and track their energy consumption in real time.
In a significant step towards improving power efficiency, Genus Power Infrastructures Ltd. is delighted to announce the launch of its smart meter installation project throughout Uttarakhand. This initiative aims to enhance and optimise power delivery and consumption across the state.
The inauguration ceremony was honoured by the presence of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, whose attendance added to the significance of the occasion. It was a privilege to have him at the event and to recognise his support during the ceremony.
The first phase of the project will see the installation of smart meters in Dehradun, Rishikesh, Roorkee, and Haridwar. Sanjeev Chawla spoke about how Genus’s smart meters are aiding in the development and improvement of communities across Uttarakhand. Additionally, the Genus team will be conducting Consumer Awareness and Training Programmes to educate the public on the everyday benefits of smart electricity meters.
These smart meters will enable residents to make online payments and track their energy consumption in real-time. For Uttarakhand’s residents, this project promises not only potential savings on energy bills but also a significant advancement towards a greener future. The installation of these meters represents more than just an upgrade to the electrical infrastructure; it’s a move towards equipping consumers with the knowledge and tools necessary for efficient energy management.Since 1995, Genus Power Infrastructures has been a leader in electronic energy meters in India, having installed over 75 million meters and holding a market share of approximately 27 per cent.
