The flagship venture of Chiripal Group sets sights on energy independence, economic empowerment and cutting-edge technology.
Grew Energy Pvt Ltd, a flagship venture of the Chiripal Group, is poised to establish a three-stage, fully backward-integrated manufacturing unit in Jammu & Kashmir. With a committed investment of ₹4,500 crore, this ultra-modern facility will have an annual capacity of producing 3.2 gw high-efficiency modules and 2.8 gw ingots, wafers and cells upon completion.
Grew is India’s first renewable energy player to establish a manufacturing facility in Jammu state. Situated in Kathua, the high-tech facility will adhere to international standards with world-class automated machinery, making Grew the first solar company in India to possess such unique technology and a cutting-edge manufacturing facility.
The company conducted a ground-breaking ceremony at the facility, where Vinay Thadani, CEO and Director of Grew Energy; Hardip Singh, COO of Grew Energy; and other dignitaries from the Chiripal group—Ved Prakash Chiripal, JyotiPrasad Chiripal, Jaiprakash Chiripal, and Brijmohan Chiripal, among others—were present.
Grew has already begun to pave new ways for J&K’s economic landscape by selecting Kathua as the location for its second manufacturing unit. Spanning over a total area of 80 acres, this facility will not only meet future demands for the growing solar needs of Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, other neighbouring states, and the country at large, but also drive positive change to empower communities. The company’s commitment to upskilling the state’s youth and creating employment opportunities is a testament to our belief in the potential of the local workforce.Commenting on this auspicious occasion of the ground-breaking ceremony, Vinay Thadani, CEO and Director of Grew Energy, said, “As we embark on this transformative journey, we are grateful to the Government for the welcome and support. The new plant will add to the state’s socioeconomic development and play a pivotal role in meeting India’s net-zero targets. It will also help create employment opportunities for the people of Jammu & Kashmir. With the establishment of our Kathua facility and our existing 2.8 gw module manufacturing facility in Jaipur, Rajasthan, Grew will achieve a total of 6 gw manufacturing capacity for modules and 2.8 gw for solar components by FY25.”
With futuristic technology and a skilled workforce, Grew, one of India’s youngest yet fast-emerging sustainable companies, is not just aiming to offer exceptional quality products and become self-sufficient solar manufacturers of high-end Domestic Content Requirement (DCR) modules by March 2025. Our commitment towards achieving energy independence is unwavering, and we are strengthening renewable infrastructure to make India the next renewable superpower in the world.
