India advances its green hydrogen agenda with a quality control workshop
.

The national workshop in New Delhi lays the groundwork for standardised production and application of green hydrogen.

The Central government recently organised a daylong workshop on ‘Quality Control in Green Hydrogen: Standards & Testing Infrastructure’ at Sushma Swaraj Bhawan, New Delhi. The workshop, convened by the Union Ministry of New & Renewable Energy, outlined actions necessary to establish a consistent ecosystem for green hydrogen production through well-defined quality standards. It also addressed the measures needed to develop a network of green hydrogen testing facilities and to enhance the ease of doing business to expedite the transition towards clean energy.

As a significant outcome of the workshop, a dedicated portal for the National Green Hydrogen Mission was launched. This portal will serve as a central location for information on the Mission and the steps taken for the development of the green hydrogen ecosystem in India.

  2. Standards in hydrogen storage
  3. Standards of electrolyser manufacturing & performance
  4. Standards for green hydrogen production plants & systems
  5. Green hydrogen-based applications

Approximately 300 stakeholders from ministries, public sector undertakings (PSUs), government agencies, industry associations, research institutes, laboratories, and academia participated in the workshop.
