Join ICGH 2023 to learn from experts and establish a Green Hydrogen Ecosystem, accelerating global decarbonisation goals.
The Government of India is hosting the International Conference on Green Hydrogen (ICGH-2023) from July 5th to 7th, 2023, at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi. This conference aims to bring together global experts from the scientific and industrial communities to discuss advancements and emerging technologies in the green hydrogen sector. Organised by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, in collaboration with other government agencies, the conference aims to foster a systemic approach to establish a Green Hydrogen ecosystem and meet global decarbonisation goals.
The conference will feature plenary talks, expert panel discussions, and technical deliberations, allowing participants to delve deep into national and global priorities aligned with India’s National Green Hydrogen Mission. The mission, launched by the Government of India, aims to achieve India’s Net Sero target by 2070 and position the country as a global hub for green hydrogen production, utilisation, and export.
Bhupinder Singh Bhalla, Secretary of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, highlighted the importance of industry partnership and technology adoption in the National Green Hydrogen Mission. He emphasised the limited global capacity for electrolyser production and the need for India to adopt appropriate technology in manufacturing electrolysers and their components. The conference aims to provide a platform for experts to discuss various aspects of the value chain and foster collaboration and knowledge-sharing.
Bhupinder Singh Bhalla also mentioned the significant traction from the industry regarding green hydrogen projects in India. Around 48 projects on green hydrogen and green ammonia have been publicly announced, with a production capacity of approximately 3.5 million metric tonnes per annum of green hydrogen. The three-day conference will include over 25 sessions focusing on various aspects of the green hydrogen ecosystem. It expects participation from more than 1,500 delegates from India and abroad. The conference will also showcase demos, prototypes, and facilitate B2B and B2G meetings.
The conference agenda includes sessions on hydrogen production, storage, distribution, downstream applications, and disruptive science and technology. Plenary lectures will present perspectives from Japan, Australia, and Europe. Technical sessions will cover topics such as pipeline infrastructure, logistics, codes, standards, regulations, green financing, and strengthening the R&D ecosystem.
