The international conference and exhibition on smart energy and smart mobility for smarter cities is scheduled from 04 – 08 February 2025.
India has set a Net Zero target for 2070. Electrification is the key strategy for decarbonisation, and for India to achieve Net Zero by 2070, the power sector must aim to become Net Zero by 2050. To support this goal, the Government of India has launched a host of programs and projects.
These include more than doubling the current power generation capacity to 900 GW by 2032, increasing the renewable energy (RE) based capacity to 596 GW by 2032, and developing 236 GWh of battery energy storage systems (BESS) by 2032. Additionally, the government plans to install 10 million rooftop solar PV systems with a cumulative capacity of 30 GW, resulting in the avoidance of 720 million tons of CO₂ equivalent emissions. The “Vision 2030: PM Public Transport Sewa” envisages 6,000 km of electric highways and the replacement of 800,000 diesel buses with electric buses, including 50,000 school buses. Other initiatives include launching the carbon market in 2023, rolling out 250 million smart meters on a fast track, and implementing Time-of-Day (TOD) tariffs for electricity for all consumers from 2025, incentivising consumption during high solar hours at reduced tariffs.
Since its inception in 2011, the India Smart Grid Forum (ISGF) has spearheaded the movement toward the digitalisation of utilities in India, playing a pivotal role in bringing new technologies and solutions to India, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Robotics, Blockchain, Web 3.0, and Metaverse applications.ISGF has been organising its flagship annual event, India Smart Utility Week (ISUW), since 2015, and it is considered one of the top five international events on Smart Grids, Electric Mobility, and Smart Energy. All previous editions of ISUW (initially known as India Smart Grid Week – ISGW) were huge successes, attracting the attention and participation of top-notch thinkers and utility leaders from around the globe. Technology companies, regulators, policymakers, government officials, and senior officers from electricity, water, and gas utilities from over 50 countries participated in past editions. ISUW 2024 was attended by over 2000 delegates and addressed by 241 eminent speakers from more than 25 countries.
The 11th edition of ISUW is scheduled from 04 – 08 February 2025, in New Delhi, India, as an International Conference and Exhibition on Smart Energy and Smart Mobility. ISUW 2025 will include plenaries, special and bilateral workshops, keynotes, roundtables, technical sessions, technical paper presentations, tutorials, and technical tours. Bilateral Smart Grid Workshops with the EU, UK, USA, Brazil, and Germany are being planned. The 9th edition of the ISGF Innovation Awards will be organised as part of ISUW 2025 on February 7, 2025.
