This acquisition was completed through NCLT proceedings on 04th April 2025, reinforcing Kundan Group’s commitment to sustainable power generation and efficient waste management.
Kundan Green, announced the acquisition of M/S Jabalpur MSW Pvt. Ltd., a well-established Waste-to-Energy plant that was previously maintained and operated by M/S Essel Group. This acquisition was completed through NCLT proceedings on 04th April 2025, reinforcing Kundan Group’s commitment to sustainable power generation and efficient waste management. This acquisition was made possible under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC) through a process initiated by the State Bank of India.
The Jabalpur plant stands out as one of the successful Waste-to-Energy projects in India. It has an installed capacity of 11.5 MW allowing the processing of 450 tons (+/-10%) per day of municipal waste. The plant is equipped with cutting-edge Hitachi technology, which in itself provides high end equipment’s ensuring efficiency and reliability.
Jabalpur Municipal Corporation will be providing the raw fuel to keep operations running smoothly, while the energy generated will be fed directly into the Madhya Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission’s grid. This project will decrease the overall waste accumulation in the landfill sites in Jabalpur and make the environment cleaner and greener. With the same we are aligning our vision and mission to achieve the ESG targets of India ensuring long term sustainability.“This marks a significant step forward for us. Waste-to-energy solutions are the need of the hour, and this facility has immense potential. Our goal is to optimise its operations, maximise efficiency, and contribute to India’s renewable energy landscape. The said acquisition aligns to our target of achieving 300MW by FY27. The company is acquired at an estimated cost of INR 65 crores which will generate a revenue of ~INR 35 crores and EBITDA of more than INR 20 crores. This marks a significant step forward to achieve the revenue target of INR 400 crores by FY27” said Mr. Udit Garg, Managing Director ofKundan Green Energy
