PM inaugurates global renewable energy investors meet ‘RE-INVEST 2024’

The event will feature nearly 40 sessions, including a Chief Ministerial Plenary, a CEO Roundtable, and technical discussions focusing on promoting renewable energy and accelerating the clean energy sector to meet India’s climate goals.
The Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially opened the fourth edition of the Global Renewable Energy Investors Meet and Expo (RE-INVEST 2024) in Gandhinagar, Gujarat today. Highlighting that India aims to become the world’s third-largest economy, with a focus on rapid progress across all sectors. He noted that the government has been working on various initiatives in the first 100 days of its third term to ensure the country’s advancement. The event, which will run for three days, marks the first time it is being held outside of the national capital.
Modi emphasised India’s long-term vision, stating, “We are not just aiming to reach the top but to sustain our position. We are preparing for the next 1,000 years.” He also mentioned plans to develop Ayodhya and 16 other locations as model solar cities.
The event will feature nearly 40 sessions, including a Chief Ministerial Plenary, a CEO Roundtable, and technical discussions. It will focus on promoting renewable energy and accelerating the clean energy sector to meet India’s climate goals. India requires an investment of INR 30 lakh crore to achieve its target of 500 GW of non-fossil fuel energy capacity by 2030. Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar will chair the concluding session of the event.
More than 10,000 delegates, including policymakers and industry leaders, are expected to attend. Partner countries for the event include Australia, Denmark, Germany, and Norway, with partner states being Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Rajasthan, Karnataka, and Uttar Pradesh. High-level delegations from the US, UK, Belgium, the EU, Oman, UAE, Singapore, and Hong Kong will also be present, with Germany and Denmark represented by ministers.The conference agenda includes 44 sessions on topics such as green investment, green hydrogen, onshore wind energy, resource efficiency, bioenergy, battery storage, and hydropower. An exhibition will also showcase contributions from public and private sectors, state governments, and start-ups.
