Powergrid electrifies Youlchung Village in Leh

The electrification was completed under Deendayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana.
Power Grid Corporation of India Limited has recently electrified Youlchung Village in Leh under Deendayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY-New). During a ceremony conducted as part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations, the village was commissioned and dry ration was distributed amongst villagers wherein Sarpanchs, Numberdars, Naib-sarpanches, panchs and members of villages of Youlchung, Skumpata, Fotoksar were present.
POWERGRID has constructed the 11 kV HT network of 30.59 kms from Fatoksar Village to connect Youlchung with the National Grid. The 415V LT Infrastructure has also been developed by POWERGRID within the village & has installed three distribution transformers of 63 kVA capacity each, for the first time.This remote village has been electrified for the first time after seven decades of Independence. With this, telecom companies are also installing telecommunication equipment to provide mobile connectivity for the first time, and it will open up horizons of opportunities in the fields of education, employment etc.
