Strategic agreement with Rajasthan Urja Vikas solidifies commitment to sustainable hydroelectric power development.
Ratle Hydro Electric Power Corporation Limited (RHPCL), a joint venture between NHPC Limited and Jammu and Kashmir State Power Development Corporation (JKSPDC), has formally entered into a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Rajasthan Urja Vikas and IT Services Limited. This agreement pertains to the acquisition of power generated from the 850 MW Ratle Hydroelectric Project, situated in Kishtwar within the union territory of Jammu & Kashmir.
The executed agreement outlines the terms for the procurement of power for an extensive duration of 40 years, starting from the Commercial Operation Date (COD) of the Ratle Hydroelectric Project. The specific power allocation details will be duly notified by the Ministry of Power, Government of India.
The signing ceremony for this significant PPA transpired in Jaipur on the 3rd of January, 2024, and was attended by high-ranking officials from both RHPCL and Rajasthan Urja Vikas and IT Services Limited. The agreement solidifies the commitment between the parties involved and sets the framework for the long-term supply and utilisation of power generated by the Ratle Hydroelectric Project.This collaborative effort underscores the strategic partnership between RHPCL, NHPC Limited, JKSPDC, and Rajasthan Urja Vikas and IT Services Limited, contributing to the sustainable development of hydroelectric power in the region.
