ReNew Energy Appoints Distinguished Non-Executive Independent Directors to Board
ReNew Energy Global Plc, India’s leading renewable energy company and a champion of decarbonisation, has announced the appointment of three distinguished individuals as Non-Executive Independent Directors.The appointments of Paula Gold-Williams, Nicoletta Giadrossi, and Philip Graham New will be effective from August 23, 2023, subject to approval by the Company’s shareholders at the forthcoming Annual General Meeting. If approved, their tenure will extend until the Annual General Meeting in the calendar year 2025.
ReNew reaffirms its commitment to diversity and inclusivity at all levels, and the addition of more women directors represents a significant stride towards this objective. The Company will continue to maintain a majority of independent directors on its Board.
In the context of the recent changes, outgoing Independent Directors Ram Charan and Michelle Robyn Grew will retire on August 22, 2023, upon the completion of their respective terms. Additionally, the tenure of Philip Kassin, MKC Investments LLC Nominee, and Independent Director, is set to expire on the same date, following the expiration of the director nomination rights of MKC Investments LLC. The departure of these directors is not attributed to any disagreements with the Company on matters pertaining to its operations, policies, or practices.
The three newly appointed Non-Executive Independent Directors bring diverse expertise and experience to ReNew’s Board.
Paula Gold-Williams, formerly the President and CEO of CPS Energy, a municipal utility based in San Antonio, Texas, is presently associated with several esteemed organisations, including the Keystone Policy Center and Emera, Inc. With an extensive background in finance and accounting, she holds various leadership positions, underscoring her prominence in the energy sector.Nicoletta Giadrossi holds significant leadership roles in prominent companies and has a wealth of experience in audit, risk, sustainability, and remuneration committees. Her executive career spanning three decades includes key positions at Technip and General Electric Company, reflecting her expertise in the energy, engineering, and capital goods domains.
Philip Graham New, a non-executive director at Norsk Hydro ASA and Almar Water Solutions B.V., has played crucial roles in energy transition initiatives. His contributions to various advisory panels and committees in the clean energy sector demonstrate his commitment to sustainable practices. His vast experience, including a significant tenure at BP p.l.c., makes him a valuable addition to ReNew’s Board.
