Renewable energy sector sees 23.7 per cent surge in job demand, report reveals

A recent report by TeamLease Services has found that the renewable energy sector in India has experienced a significant 23.7 per cent increase in job demand during the 2023-24 financial year, marking a substantial rise from the 8.5 per cent growth seen in the previous year.
The report, released on World Environment Day, highlights the growing demand for skilled professionals in the sector, particularly in tier II and III cities where most renewable energy projects are located.
In-demand roles include solar PV and wind turbine technicians and installers, roofers, production operators, storage operators, and waste management specialists, in addition to operations, maintenance, and technical positions.According to Subburathinam P, CSO Staffing at TeamLease Services, “The renewable energy sector is witnessing a positive trend in its workforce, with employees finding meaningful careers and being deeply engaged in impactful work.” The report notes a decline in attrition rates, from 38.8 per cent in 2022-23 to 33.5 per cent in FY24, indicating greater job satisfaction and stability among employees.
