RK Singh inaugurates POWERGRID vishram sadan to provide essential healthcare for underprivileged communities

POWERGRID Vishram Sadan was inaugurated by RK Singh, the Union Minister for Power, New and Renewable Energy, in the virtual presence of Dr. Mansukh L. Mandaviya, the Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Chemical and Fertiliser.
Addressing the public, R. K. Singh lauded the commendable efforts of POWERGRID and expressed, “Poor people from far-flung areas will benefit from this POWERGRID Vishram Sadan.” He also highlighted the robust power scenario in the country and acknowledged the Government of India’s praiseworthy efforts to provide affordable power to the common man.
Constructed at a cost of approximately ₹ 23 crore, this 2-storey Vishram Sadan boasts 270 beds. The 55 rooms in this Sadan are equipped with all necessary facilities, ensuring maximum comfort for the attendants of the patients.
As a responsible corporate citizen, POWERGRID has erected similar Vishram Sadans at prominent institutions such as AIIMS in New Delhi, IGIMS in Patna, DMCH in Darbhanga, KGMU in Lucknow, Guwahati, and Vadodara for the benefit of the masses. Ongoing projects include the construction of Vishram Sadans in Ranchi and Jhansi.POWERGRID has been a pivotal force in rural development, education, healthcare, skill development, environment conservation, and initiatives related to drinking water, water conservation, and sanitation. The company’s CSR initiatives, totaling about ₹ 1000 crores, have significantly contributed to economic and social development across the country.

K J George, the Minister of Energy, Tejasvi Soorya, MP from Bengaluru South, Dr. Yatindra Dwivedi, Director (Personnel) at POWERGRID, Dr. Partima Murthy, Director at NIMHANS in Bengaluru, and senior officials from POWERGRID were also present in the inaugural event.
