Siegwerk inaugurates state-of-the-art solar power park in Jaisalmer

Leading printing ink provider marks World Environment Day with state-of-the-art solar installation, driving sustainability goals forward.

Siegwerk, a leading global provider of printing inks and coatings, proudly announced the inauguration of its state-of-the-art solar power park in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan on World Environment Day 2024. This landmark project, with its cutting-edge technology and innovative design, underscores Siegwerk’s commitment to sustainability and renewable energy, advancing the company towards its ambitious goal of achieving 30 percent renewable energy consumption at its Bhiwadi Centre of Excellence (CoE) by 2025.

The facility, capable of generating 2,028,000 kWh of electricity annually, was recently installed, significantly contributing to Siegwerk’s renewable energy targets. Spanning 2.7 acres in Jaisalmer, a region known for its high solar radiation—approximately 20 percent greater than Bhiwadi—the solar park ensures efficient and abundant electricity generation. This will support Siegwerk’s energy needs at the Bhiwadi site and contribute to environmental sustainability by reducing carbon emissions by 1,843 tons annually.

An agreement with a DISCOM was finalised to ensure the efficient integration of solar power into the grid. As a result, the official power draw from the solar park began on May 8, 2024. This project demonstrates Siegwerk’s strategic focus on generating a positive environmental impact through innovative energy solutions, paving the way for a greener future for all.
