SJVN signs contract agreement for 360 MW solar project in BHUJ, Gujarat

Nand Lal Sharma, Chairman and Managing Director, SJVN, informed us that SJVN Green Energy Limited (SGEL), the renewable subsidiary of SJVN, has signed a contract agreement for the balance of system (BoS) of the 360 MW solar power project with M/s Solar World Energy Solutions Private Limited, Noida. The contract includes the operation and maintenance of the solar PV plant for a period of three years. The agreement has been signed in the presence of Akhileshwar Singh, Director (Finance) of SJVN, Ajay Singh, CEO of SGEL, and senior officials of SGEL and Solar World Energy Solutions.
Nand Lal Sharma apprised that the 360 MW solar power project to be developed by SJVN through SGEL will be located in Bhuj, District Kutch, Gujarat. Earlier, the project was secured on a build-own-operate basis in an open competitive bidding process conducted by Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL). A power purchase agreement for the project has been signed between SGEL and GUVNL for 25 years.The project is expected to generate 901.87 million units in the first year, and the cumulative energy generation over 25 years is estimated at around 21244 million units. The commissioning of this project is expected to reduce 1040975 metric tons of carbon emissions. This would contribute to the Government of India’s mission of carbon reduction for a carbon-neutral economy.
