Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), a Tata Power subsidiary, has received a “Letter of Award” (LoA) from Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (Tata Power-DDL), a joint venture of Tata Power and the Govt. of the NCT of Delhi, for establishing a 255 MW hybrid (wind and solar) power project in Karnataka. The project will be completed within 24 months of the PPA’s execution date. An e-reverse auction was carried out to award the letter.
The power generated by the project will be supplied to Tata Power-DDL, which serves a population of over 7 million people in North Delhi. The letter specifies the current capacity bifurcation as 85 MW solar and 170 MW wind power, with the green-shoe option of adding 85 MW solar and 170 MW wind capacity.
