A 51.2 kW solar-rooftop system was inaugurated at Vidya School, Gurugram. The system was installed by ReNew Power, one of India’s leading renewable energy company. The project, undertaken by ReNew as a part of its ‘Lighting Lives’ CSR initiative, will allow Vidya School to generate electricity for its own consumption, using solar radiation. The solar rooftop installation will provide electricity to the school complex and will help Vidya School save 5 lakh every year in electricity bills. The school plans to use the savings for scholarships and financial assistance to its students.
Vidya School provides education to around 1100 students from the underprivileged sections of the society. The ‘Lighting Lives’ initiative is one of the flagship CSR programmes of ReNew Power, aimed at providing electricity solutions free of cost and through clean energy technology, to educational institutions across the country.
