Anritsu’s expanded Field MasterTM MS2080A and Pulse Radar Measurement Function MX284059B software bring unmatched measurement capabilities in pulse measurement.
Anritsu Company, a leading test and measurement equipment provider, has extended the frequency range of its multi-functional spectrum analyser, the Field MasterTM MS2080A, to operate up to 6 GHz, bringing unprecedented performance and measurement to base station installation and maintenance (I&M) applications. This expansion addresses the growing congestion in the 6 GHz spectra caused by the rapid growth in satellite services, cellular, commercial, and LMR networks, radio location services, and industrial scientific and medical networks.
At 6 GHz, the MS2080A features a fast sweep speed of 45 GHz/s for greater insight over wider spans. It also has advanced user features such as AM/ FM audio demodulation and best-inclass RF performance, including +/- 1 dB amplitude accuracy. Additionally, it supports a cable and antenna analyser, a power metre, and 5G/LTE analysis, making it an ideal generalpurpose instrument that addresses measurement requirements for legacy and emerging wireless networks.
To expand its measurement capability, Anritsu also announced a new AM/ FM modulation quality measurement option for all instruments in the Field Master family. This option enables the full characterisation of broadcast transmitters, as required by national regulators and transmitter owners. It provides a single-screen display of the RF spectrum, audio spectrum, and audio oscilloscope, along with modulation quality and distortion values.
The MS2080A conducts a full range of 5G FR1 radios measurements to support I&M of 5G New Radio (NR) and LTE base stations. It offers full-channel, power-based, and 5G/LTE modulation quality measurement-based coverage mapping for accurate over-the-air (OTA) testing.
The MS2080A is a highly durable analyser that performs in challenging environments. It is the only instrument in its class to provide 5 watts of continuous RF input overload protection. It prevents costly damage to its front end when used close to highpower transmitters or in high-signallevel environments.Furthermore, Anritsu introduces the Pulse Radar Measurement Function MX284059B software for its Signal Analyser MS2840A. This software creates a single-instrument solution for automated pulse radar measurements to dramatically reduce the cost-oftest and test time on the production line and in the field. The MS2840A, when equipped with the new software and the USB Peak Power Sensor MA24406A/18A/40A, supports tests of Tx characteristics that typically require a spectrum analyser, oscilloscope, power metre, and frequency counter.
Using short pulses, the Signal Analyser MS2840A-based solution can accurately test high-performance radar, including aerospace and maritime applications. It also supports long-range radar using long-repetition cycles. S-, C-, X-, and Ku-band (3 to 15 GHz band) pulse-radar Tx tests can be conducted with the solution, and all test stages, from data acquisition to spectrum emission mask creation for TX spurious emissions, are fully automated.
In summary, Anritsu’s expanded Field MasterTM MS2080A and Pulse Radar Measurement Function MX284059B software bring unmatched measurement capabilities and performance to base station installation, maintenance, and pulse radar measurements. The company’s innovative solutions continue to support the latest emerging technologies and improve testing efficiency and accuracy for customers worldwide.
