KUSAM-MECO introduces advanced models ‘KM -131D’ and ‘KM 891’

The KM-131D is an ultrasonic thickness gauge model, while the KM 891 is an auto-ranging true RMS digital multimeter with data logging and a PC interface.

Kusam Meco has recently launched two advanced models, KM 131D and KM 891, designed to provide high-precision measurement capabilities for industrial applications. The KM-131D stands out due to its microprocessor-controlled design, which allows it to quickly and accurately measure the thickness and sound speeds of various materials, making it a highly versatile tool for industries such as manufacturing, construction, and energy.

One of the key features of the KM-131D is its ability to measure materials like metal, plastic, ceramic, and glass, all of which are good conductors of ultrasonic waves. The instrument is particularly useful for monitoring the condition of pipelines, pressure vessels, and other critical parts used in industrial settings. It provides essential data for assessing the corrosion levels of equipment over time, helping industries to prevent failures and extend the lifespan of their assets. The measuring range of the KM-131D spans from 1.00 mm to 225.0 mm, which covers a wide variety of thickness measurements needed in diverse industrial applications.

The device has a lower limit for pipe measurements of Φ20mm x 3mm (steel) and can store up to 500 data points, making it ideal for ongoing monitoring and analysis of material conditions. Powered by a rechargeable 3 X 1.2V battery, it ensures long-lasting performance even in challenging environments. At a weight of just 130 grams, the KM-131D is lightweight and portable, ensuring ease of use in the field.

Included with the instrument are a sensor, coupling agent, and calibration block, all of which are critical for ensuring accurate readings. Moreover, KUSAM-MECO has introduced a most advanced TRMS digital multimeter model, KM 891, which has 60,000 counts, a data logging function, and a PC interface. It has 21 functions and 63 ranges. This new digital multimeter packs 21 functions into 1 instrument so that the user does not have to carry many instruments. The basic DC voltage accuracy is 0.03 percent.

KM 891 is a proof and dust-proof model with an IP 65 rating. It has safety compliance CAT III 1000V & CAT IV 600V. It can capture trends and record data or read back 20,000 records. For the safety of the instrument and the user, if the test lead input is wrong, the instrument has an alarm and buzzer to warn the user. It also has a date and time function. It has measuring functions: AC, AC + DC, AC voltage, AC + DC voltage, DC, resistance, capacitance, frequency, and temperature measurement functions. 

A very special function in KM 891 is conductance measurement. Additionally, it has the function of duty cycle, diode test, continuity test and pulse width.  It has dBV and dbM.  To conserve the battery power, the meter will switch off if any switch or button is not operated for 15 minutes. It can also display maximum, minimum and relative values. Peak detection of the input value is also available in this instrument. It also has the function of data holding a comparison instrument. It complies with safety standards IEC/EN 61010-1, EN6101-2-30 and pollution degree 2. The functions are displayed on the LCD screen graphically, and an optional Bluetooth feature is available.

The instrument includes a software CD and USB cable, as well as a pair of test leads.  It also includes two K-type thermocouple probes, one temperature connector, a carrying case, and an operational manual.
