What is your outlook on the Indian solar industry? How will DhaSh support the industry’s growth?

With 10 GW of Solar PV installations in Q1 2024, we are witnessing vibrant growth in solar adoption and are very excited about the market’s progress in India. The country is on a mission to achieve Aatma Nirbhar. To contribute to this goal, the Solar PV industry is working hard to develop and manufacture quality products to substitute imports while increasing scalability to meet local demand at a competitive cost and unparalleled quality. Solar module manufacturing capacity is expected to reach 100 GW by early next year. To support this, we are expanding our Junction Box manufacturing capacity to 38 GW by September 2024 and 50 GW by September 2025. This expansion will make us the largest non-Chinese-owned PV Junction Box manufacturing company in the world.

Why is a PV Junction Box so crucial in a solar module?

The PV Junction Box plays a critical role in ensuring that the service life of solar photovoltaic modules meets their 25-year promise. Despite its small and compact design, the PV Junction Box, acting as an enclosure on the solar module where PV strings are electrically connected, is a crucial component for reliability and cannot be ignored. Its importance lies in various aspects, such as protecting the module from electrical hazards, dissipating excess heat generated by high currents, and resisting water and dust entry. In many situations, the Junction Box is the component that must sacrifice itself to ensure safety across the PV array.

How is DhaSh adapting to the continuous technological advancements in solar modules?

The continuous evolution in solar cell and module manufacturing technology (Mono PERC, TOPCon, HJT, perovskite, IBC) demands ever higher requirements from components like Junction Boxes. Higher capacity module and plant output also mean that the cost of failure due to poor components is greater. With the market shifting towards large-size, high-power-output G2G modules like bifacial, higher performance requirements are put forward for PV Junction boxes. The junction box requires a higher thermal conductivity to ensure a good temperature balance and timely heat dissipation. Here our flagship product “DhaSh Trio” Junction box steals the show with its compact and robust design, increased efficiency & optimised cost, accommodating all the latest technology demands. DhaSh Trio Junction box comes with an “Integrated Module” diode, having superior heat dissipation ability & controlled junction temperature (<200⁰C) under multiple JB-rated current applications (up to 30A). The premium grade of plastic material used as the enclosure possesses thermal endurance of up to 125⁰C, flame class of 5VA (under UL-94, V0) & ingress protection rating of IP68, which makes the product more robust for working in harsh conditions & is on an upscale over any market available similar family product.
