ELECRAMA 2023: Futuristic technologies for a sustainable power fortune

ELECRAMA, IEEMA’s largest stand-alone display of the Indian Electrical and Allied Electronics Industry, will take place from February 18th to February 22nd, 2023, at India Expo Mart, Greater Noida. Noida. ELECRAMA is the premier exposition of the Indian electrical industry and a platform for connecting the globe with the Indian industry regarding technology, new trends, and innovation for the future energy transition. ELECRAMA 2023’s theme is “Reimagine Energy: For a Sustainable Future,” and it will focus on displaying innovation and future technologies in various fields, including storage, green hydrogen, fuel cells, AI, and IoT. This edition will also emphasise energy sustainability. Conservation, Net Zero Carbon, and Smart Consumption.

Overall, how do you see growth in the number of exhibitors at ELECRAMA 2023?
Yes, last time, which was ELECRAMA 2020, we had around 1,300 exhibitors. For the upcoming 15th edition, ELECRAMA 2023, we are expecting well over 1,500 exhibitors.
How do you gauge the RBSM phenomenon in the upcoming ELECRAMA?
The Reverse Buyer Seller Meet (RBSM) has been an enormous success. Until the most recent edition (ELECRAMA 2020), central government support was limited to developing countries; developed countries like the United States, European countries, and others were excluded.
However, this time we will have buyers from all over the globe. In this RBSM, we expect over 700 buyers from around the world—South East Asia, Africa, Latin America, North America, Europe, etc. We will now be in a position to cover the whole world!
Please tell me more about your new initiative, the Start-Up Challenge.
The IEEMA Start-up Challenge is a platform for some of the most promising ones to showcase their innovations at ELECRAMA 2023. While only the top 10–12 will get a chance to showcase at ELECRAMA, we will let you look at all the participating ones too. Do leverage this opportunity and provide a platform for these start-ups to pilot or scale. – Apply their suggestions to your plants and possibly invest in relevant ones to help them scale.

How is IEEMA faring concerning extending the popularity of ELECRAMA?

Are there countries that would be participating in ELECRAMA for the first time?
As far as I know, the United States, Canada, and Portugal are among the countries that, if they set up a country pavilion at ELECRAMA 2023, would be their first time.
How is ELECRAMA becoming a platform for budding engineers and technology start-ups?
Like it has always been, this edition of ELECRAMA will also feature an Innovation Hub. This will be supported by the Fraunhofer Society of Germany. We are also in talks with the Ministry of Commerce about grants that could be given to start-ups to finance up to 95 percent of the expenses incurred in showcasing their innovations. This tie-up with the ministry is still in progress. We are very close to getting the deal finalised. Once this is done, you can expect many start-ups to participate in the Innovation Hub of ELECRAMA 2023.

How is ELECRAMA 2023 tackling new and emerging areas like energy storage, renewable energy, etc.?
ELECRAMA 2023 will have a co-located event called “eTECH nxt” that will address only emerging areas like e-mobility, energy storage systems, etc. This specific sub-event within ELECRAMA 2023 will focus only on emerging areas. The brochure for this event was launched at the IEEMA Annual Convention.
What is your broad vision for this mega-event?
My vision as Chairman of ELECRAMA 2023 is that wherever we are today, after ten years, ELECRAMA should be four- to five times bigger. It should be like the Canton Fair for electricity at the global level. ELECRAMA is the place to go if you need electrical or electricity under one roof. That is the vision that I have. And as I have been saying, with ELECRAMA, it only gets better!
