APAR Industries, founded in 1958, has successfully maintained its leadership position in the conductor industry while strategically diversifying into transformer oil, cables, and defense. The company is recognised as the number one conductor manufacturer in the world, with this division contributing 50 percent of its total $2.2 billion revenue. APAR has achieved this leadership through continuous innovation, large-scale production, and a strong global supply chain. In addition to conductors, the company has made significant strides in transformer oil, where it is ranked 3rd globally and 1st in India, further strengthening its position in the power transmission sector. The cables division has also seen remarkable growth, establishing APAR as India’s leading cable manufacturer. The company has built a strong presence in renewable energy sectors such as wind and solar, supplying specialized cables to most major developers in India and internationally. At Elecrama 2024, APAR Industries introduced three groundbreaking cable solutions designed to enhance fire safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. The Fire Protect House Wire is one of the most significant innovations, developed using a zero-halogen compound and electron beam technology. This advanced product offers an impressive lifespan of 70 years and can carry 100 percent  more current than traditional FR PVC wires. One of its key advantages is its compliance with the 2023 National Electric Code, which mandates the use of zero-halogen wires in high-rise buildings. Unlike conventional wires, this product emits minimal smoke and no harmful gases such as chlorine, carbon dioxide, or carbon monoxide, significantly improving fire safety. Another innovative solution launched by APAR is the Aluminum Flexible Cable, which utilises electron beam technology to enhance its current-carrying capacity, making it comparable to or even superior to traditional copper cables. Since aluminum is a more cost-effective and lightweight alternative to copper, these cables offer a 25-30 percent  reduction in costs while maintaining high efficiency and durability. This makes them an ideal choice for industries looking for sustainable and cost-efficient wiring solutions. The third major innovation introduced at the event was the 105℃ Medium Voltage Covered Conductor, which features high-amperage capacity with XLPE insulation. This product improves energy transmission efficiency, reduces power losses, and offers a cost-effective alternative for utilities and consumers.
