The company has filed a patent for its latest innovation that leverages electroluminescence (EL) and visual imaging to provide comprehensive real-time defect analysis for solar panels. The state-of-the-art system captures high-resolution EL images through an infrared camera and processes them using advanced machine-learning algorithms.
In pursuit of doubling down its efforts, Gautam Solar plans to raise ₹1 000 crore through Initial Public Offerings (IPO) in the next 12 to 18 months. This funding is specifically meant for the firm’s new 2 GW solar cell manufacturing project. Gautam Mohanka, CEO of Gautam Solar, shares insights into the company and industry. Let us know more.
How does N-type TOPCon technology by Gautam Solar improve efficiency and performance?
Gautam Solar, a manufacturer of technically advanced modules, recently launched the glass-to-glass N-type TOPCon solar panels. Due to their ‘Dual Power Generation’ design, these panels can generate up to 30 percent more power.
In terms of materials and design, we have strict quality policies, an in-house R&D team, and accreditations with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, IP-65 rating, MNRE, and UV-proof certifications. Gautam Solar is a technologically driven organisation with multiple Intellectual Properties (IPs), aiming to enter Europe as an important market for Indian solar module manufacturers with N-type TOPCon and Mono PERC solar modules for residential and commercial usage.
The modules incorporate modern cell technologies such as Round Ribbon Connectors for better light utilisation, Non-Destructive Cell Cutting for higher reliability, and Half-Cut Cell Technology for better low-light performance. In the latest developments, Gautam Solar has forayed into solar cell manufacturing projects with an annual production capacity of 2 GW. Innovations are in the DNA of Gautam Solar, an organisation that sets quality standards in the market.
How does your AI-based system improve solar panel defect detection and contribute to energy efficiency?
Digitalisation is revolutionising the renewable energy and e-mobility sectors, enhancing efficiency, adaptability, and sustainability. Real-time data analytics and monitoring enable predictive maintenance, optimising power generation and resource utilisation. Smart grids with real-time analytics enable dynamic adjustments to energy demand and supply, improving load balancing and efficiency.
We have recently filed a Patent for our latest Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based system to detect defects in solar panels. This latest innovation by the R&D team of Gautam Solar leverages electroluminescence (EL) and visual imaging to provide comprehensive real-time defect analysis. The state-of-the-art system captures high-resolution EL images through an infrared camera and processes them using advanced machine-learning algorithms. It displays defect labels, such as “crack,” “black spot,” “inactive cell,” or “bright cell,” enabling immediate identification and corrective action.
How will Gautam Solar’s expansion contribute to the renewable energy target of 500 GW by 2030?As India targets achieving 500 GW of renewable energy by 2030, our expansion to 5 GW of solar module manufacturing capacity by 2025 is a vital step towards contributing to this national goal. Currently, the country’s solar energy capacity stands at around 70 GW, and with this expansion, Gautam Solar will account for nearly 7 percent of the total capacity in India.
Moreover, we have a 12 GW projected growth for the next fiscal year (2025-26). As a part of its expansion strategy, Gautam Solar is also investing in a 2 GW solar cell manufacturing plant in Bhiwani, Haryana. Besides, we have filed a Patent and Design Registration for Innovation in Solar Panels, which reduces installation costs for solar power plants at utility and rooftop scales.
In pursuit of doubling down our efforts, we plan to raise ₹1 000 crore through Initial Public Offerings (IPO) in the next 12 to 18 months. This funding is specifically meant for our new 2 GW solar cell manufacturing project. The expansion will occur in three phases. The first phase will be completed by the end of 2024, followed by the second and third phases in January and April 2025, respectively.
What innovative technologies will you be presenting at the upcoming Intersolar Expo?
At the upcoming InterSolar Expo, Gautam Solar will showcase its advanced N-Type TOPCon Solar Modules, designed for superior efficiency, reliability, and aesthetics. These modules feature advanced technologies like Round Ribbon Connectors for better light utilisation, Non-Destructive Cell Cutting for durability, and Half-Cut Cell Technology for low-light performance. These technologies reflect our commitment to driving innovation in the solar industry.
