Hitachi Hi-Rel is at the forefront of innovation regarding power electronics as a segment and intends to continue the same in the times to come. The company is expanding its Solar Central Inverter range and has already scaled up the manufacturing range to the inverter capacity of 3.125 MW. This would help it to penetrate the exponentially growing Solar Power market well. Darshan A Shah, the company’s managing director, shares that ELECRAMA participation reinforces the company’s commitment to sustainability. EPR brings you more details.

For 4 decades, Hitachi Hi-Rel has been at the forefront of technological innovation. Can you share any upcoming advancements or new products that will shape the future of energy systems?

We are at the forefront of innovation regarding power electronics as a segment and intend to continue the same in the times to come. We are expanding our Solar Central Inverter range and have already scaled up our manufacturing range to the inverter capacity of 3.125 MW. We are looking to further expand the same to 4.4 MW in the span of the next year or so. This would help us penetrate the exponentially growing Solar Power market well. We are also developing power electronics products in the EV space, Date Canter Space and Ship to Shore applications. Also, we have plans to consolidate our product range concerning our flagship product verticals like UPS and variable frequency drives to address the growing demand for reliable and sustainable solutions for mission-critical applications. Overall, we will play a significant role in shaping the future of energy systems.

Are any new market expansions or strategic partnerships on the horizon, especially in emerging markets like India or Southeast Asia?

We know the growth potential in India and South East Asia. In the last couple of years, we have significantly improved our market share in India, particularly with the core segments like O&G, cement, steel, power and many others through some of the strategic initiatives and increased face time with our customers. We also focused on expanding our customer base in India through meticulous mapping of their projects from the inception stage and by suggesting the most reliable and cost-effective solutions to them. We have also made good inroads with the other SEA countries like Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines, Malaysia, and Indonesia. We want to consolidate our presence in these countries by expediting end-user approvals and increasing customer interface directly and through our partners.

How do you view this edition of ELECRAMA, and what are your expectations or thoughts about the event?

ELECRAMA is the largest stand-alone show when it comes to electrical and allied equipment, and it is also the world’s largest T&D show. This edition is magnanimous because the exhibitors’ tally has crossed the 1000 mark, and the expected visitors’ tally, including visitors from every continent, would be in the millions. It is a vital platform for showcasing our latest products and technologies and connecting with our existing and prospective customers, partners and suppliers.  In this event we gained valuable insights into industry trends through concurrent events scheduled by IEEMA.

Speaking of the expectations regarding how it is being organised, we had deeper interactions with the customers, partners and other business associates, which helped us consolidate our brand recognition. These interactions provided meaningful insights into the relevant sectors of our business and we are able to further refine our strategies to capitalise on the existing or upcoming business opportunities from each of these segments. We are confident that it has contributed significantly to the growth and development of the electrical and electronic equipment industry.
