The recent Union Budget of India has measures to support the growth of the transmission and distribution (T&D) sector, including the wires and cable industry. The budget has increased allocation for power and renewable energy, emphasized rural electrification, provided tax incentives for MSMEs, and emphasized infrastructure development. These measures are expected to drive demand for wires and cables and support the growth and development of the industry. Overall, it provides a positive outlook for the wires and cable industry in the T&D business by increasing demand for their products and services, and by providing tax incentives and support for MSMEs in the sector.

What innovations have been recently implemented to ensure safe and reliable power through high-quality wires and cables?

Currently, both commercial and industrial consumers are opting for the best, most innovative, and highest-quality products available. However, there still exist some challenges in terms of awareness about which type of wire to use. Although individuals are concerned about their sanitary systems, tiles, bath fittings, and lighting, they seem to be less concerned about the type of wire they utilize, despite its significant role. If one uses sub-standard wires and loads multiple gadgets like air conditioners, and water heaters, unbranded wires may fail to handle the load, leading to the accumulation of fire.

We have conducted a range of initiatives aimed at educating stakeholders about fire safety and promoting the use of green wires for commercial and industrial installations. Our efforts have included conducting webinars and product showcases at industry exhibitions and events, where we have highlighted the benefits and advantages of using green wires for fire safety. We will continue to support and invest in initiatives that promote fire safety and the use of safe electrical products.
