Exicom Tele-Systems, a market leader in power and energy solutions for electric vehicles, information technology, telecom and renewables sector has become a core member of the Charging Interface Initiative (CharIN e.V.), an open coalition of world-class firms from the automotive sector and associated industries aiming to support and promote the combined charging system (CCS) as a global standard for EV charging. The target of the initiative is to continuously and competently advance the CCS with the aim to establish this system in the global markets. This universal charging interface for electric vehicles is mature, field-tested and already a standard in the US and Europe. Through this membership, Exicom aims to foster advance standardization of CCS in other regions of the world including India.
CCS is currently the world’s only charging system that covers all charging scenarios with a single product. Drivers of any type of electric vehicle can choose between normal and fast charging as well as AC (single-phase up to three-phase) and DC (up to high power of > 350 kW) and they only need a single system for all these options. The CCS standard is accepted and supported by a significant number of companies from different industries. Exicom will work together with CharIN association as a team in further positioning CCS as a global standard for EV charging by advocating standardization in the field of e-mobility to achieve more flexibility and security for users. They aim is to support the rollout of the CCS and contribute actively within various dimensions of the CharIN mission.
