Madhyapradesh to increase investments in clean energy

Chief Minister, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, said on Friday that investment in renewable energy sector will be encouraged. Renewable energy accounts for 20 percent of the state’s total power generation and it will be extended continuously.
Inviting investors in renewable energy sector in Madhya Pradesh, Chouhan said that Madhya Pradesh is an ideal state for investment in this sector. All necessary facilities will be made available to investors. Land has been identified for a 5,000 MW solar park in Morena, Sagar, Damoh and Ratlam districts of the state.
MP will become a partner in realising Prime Minister, Narendra Modi’s dream of executing solar energy projects, he said. The best results will be achieved by removing all obstacles to promote investment in the renewable energy sector, he added.
Chouhan was addressing the third Global Renewable Energy Investment Conference (third Global RE -Invest Renewable Energy Investors Meet & Expo) session through video conference.
Union minister of state for new and renewable energy (independent charge), R K Singh, said that the purpose of this conference is to enhance participation of states for investment growth in this area.
