Tata Power restores power network in cyclone-hit Odisha

Nearly 10 million people in Odisha are grappling with the inconvenience of disruption in power supply in the aftermath of the Cyclone Fani which ravaged the state at a speed of 200 KMPH. As per the government estimate, most of coastal Odisha, including the state capital Bhubaneswar have witnessed uprooting of 100,000 electricity poles, several substations and low transmission lines that have been completely damaged. In such a scenario, Tata Power is contributing its bit towards bringing back lives on track. Tata Power -DDL sent a team comprising of 25 engineers and technicians from its regular operations to assist the State Government in resurrecting the damaged power network.
Before leaving for Odisha, the teamtook stock of the situation to understand the extent of the damage via reports from the Indian Meteorological Department’s (IMD), National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and Odisha State Administration.
